“I can do it!” is an exciting sign that a toddler wants to participate but it often arrives when a parent is rushed, the task is too large or the environment is not ready for a beginner.

The I Can Do It Independence System was created around a more realistic question: which part of this task can the child safely own today, and what level of help will make success more likely?

The approach prioritises participation before perfection. It combines safer environmental setup, visible task steps, clear adult language, gradual prompt reduction and short practice sessions. The goal is not to rush children into independence. It is to make everyday learning calmer, safer and easier for the whole family.
